Happy Monday!

As an unmarried woman,

I was thought to be a danger.

-Grace Kelly

High Society was on the other day, so I figured a flirty quote from Ms. Kelly would cure the Monday blues :) Happy Monday!

Dorm Life

I am loving planning the dorm room for next year! Me and my roomie, L (who is currently starting her blog!)want it to be light and airy with a beachy feel to it. So we decided on robin's egg blue (inspired from my recent Kate Spade purchase) and accents of coral!

This room shows the "light and airy-ness" that we wanted.

JFK on a boat will be framed in our room...pictures of Jackie and him always inspire me, style-wise.
I have always loved hydrangeas and I want a lot of them (fake, of course) in the new dorm, they'll be in small mint julep cups!!

"Sweet tea, just the right amount of sugar"

The weekend is drawing near...
Me and my roommate are very excited that the weather is warming up and we decided to get a bunch of this gem, Firefly! Ahh, sundresses and an ice cold glass of sweet tea vodka :)

Ps- Listen to "Sweet Tea" by The Bushels, such a perfect song for a perfect drink, found it on the Firefly website!

Style Icon

Reese Witherspoon!
She just pulls of "comfy/caj yet stylish at the same time" very well. She has very simple taste, I really like it.
Ugh, I wish they were still together. They look perfect for each other, she has really good taste in men (look-wise), too bad they're never right for her.

Shop till you drop.

I came home this weekend... aka... Shopping Trip!

I made my first polyvore! This is what I wore today while I was shopping. I actually wore a men's Ralph Lauren 1/4 zip knit sweater and the bag is a variation of what I just bought/wore today I also got a new silver Ralph Lauren bracelet because mine broke after a night out :(
I got, not one, but TWO new bags today!! The Kate Spade Quinn in a robin's egg blue color and a Michael Kors brown leather bag...let's just say I cleaned out my bank account! I guess I need to do some eBay selling to make up for what I bought today! As soon as I bought the MK I switched out my purses; my brown Longchamp was not going to cut it today!
I also got an adorable dress from Target and a similar dress from Marshall's (I saw it at a boutique and almost bought it for $130 but got it for $40!! at Marshall's!!) and some new mags; Southern/Coastal/Country Living. I was asked at the register if I was buying a new house, do I look old enough to own a house?! Geez, I should get a fake ID if I can pull that off!
I also got a new Michael Kors watch a while ago...but It's still new to me :) It's gold leather with a python print, not the best picture.
Anyways, I guess I will not be buying anything new for a while... hmm.

I think that possibly, maybe I'm falling for you...

...Southern Proper.
Probably the most adorable logo I have ever seen.
Oh hey guys, this is my new husband, his name is Chappy.
<3
Drool...

PS- for real, my husband will resemble these fine men. And he will wear one of these:
This is one of my favorites, from Collard Greens, check out their stuff they are eco-friendly and make really cute things. http://www.collaredgreens.com/index.html

Dear Tory Burch...

I just want to say, that I am completely obsessed.

Love,
EllyK

Rock me, mama like a wagon wheel.

I realized that I haven't posted any pictures of me or my life. So here are a few of the recent night outs I've had at HS-C. We never take pictures but here are a couple that we've managed to snap...
St. Patrick's Day (night), notice I conveniently forgot to wear green... I had a light up shamrock ring but some how along the way, I lost it.
Me and the roommate, totally matching with our North Face's on a caj night :)
ROOMMATE!
The posters are obv so classy...
Pale as a ghost...

From here on out I vow to take more pictures, it's annoying not remembering what you did last night ;)

Cat lady.

I can't have a blog without mentioning my animals, one of the four is little Chicken Nugget...well he actually has two names. Dad and Mom call him Willie Nelson, personally I think Chicken Nugget is completely adorable and absolutely acceptable as a cat's name.

Isn't he absolutely scrumptious? Adore.

I need a new Vineyard Vines wardrobe... now.

Bow Mini Tote and the Patchwork Handle Tote
The small is just so cute! and the Patchwork one looks perfect as a school bag on the days when I don't want to use my North Face backpack.

Floater Skirt and Little Palm Patchwork Shorts
I have been looking for a skirt just like this for a while now, and the shorts are so Lilly-esq! Love!

Yellow Koozie and the Raised Icon Metal Bangle
They finally have new koozies on the website and me and my roommate want them SO bad. The bangle is something I have been coveting for a couple months now, even though the price tag is $50, I think I will be purchasing this very soon.
Oxford Patchwork Off-Shore Hoody and the Limelight Dress
The hoody would look so cute with white shorts on the beach, I really like the look of the oxford fabric on a hoody. The dress is just great, adorable, and super fun! Also, very Lilly-esq!

Hm... now if only I had a job....

Susie Homemaker?

These aprons, from Anthropology, make me want to BAKE BAKE BAKE! They are extremely inexpensive, cute, and practical- I must have one, maybe even two...

I can completely picture me and my Mom wearing these while baking in the kitchen :) Speaking of baking... I am going to try out a recipe I found in Country Home magazine for banana bread. Can't wait to try it, now using the communal kitchen in my hall will be interesting!

Dwight, you ignorant slut.

First, I have to explain my obsession. I literally can not go a day without watching The Office. It is absolutely hilarious and entertaining and I have completely fallen in love with the characters over the years... and I use Office quotes daily, boom.

So...
Obviously, I can't have a blog without talking about The Office in at least one post. This is my favorite shoot that John Krasinski and Jenna Ficsher did. I wish they dated in real life :(
I obviously have too many favorite Office quotes, but one stands out among them all... I'm sure you can guess what it is...

I've missed the boat on this one...

Why do I not own anything from Stella & Dot? Their pieces are completely fun and unique! I chose the above bracelets as my favorite (I'm a little obsessed with cuffs). They are a little bit out of my budget but accessories, to me, is an area where you should splurge. www.stelladot.com

Anyways, I got back from California trip! Went whale watching and saw Kim Kardashian in the same trip, loved it! Pictures will come later...
School tomorrow, dreading it, but at least I will have my car for the whole week! Let's see if that will spice up my week ;)
Also, PS- I am craving a Tory Burch bag, fold-able Ray Ban wayfarers, and new leather boots (plus a Stella & Dot cuff). Just had to let that off my chest...ahhh!

California here we come

My two friends and I, Ari and Del, are jetting off to Cali on Sunday and I am dying of excitement! The picture above was taken of us three on our summer trip to NYC, we just love to travel!
I've also just arrived home from school and am enjoying relaxing with the parents and brother.
Tomorrow I'm antiquing with my mom and aunt, I'll be looking for new things to help with the room renovation. I'm thinking. . . an old desk that can be painted cream, pink glass dresser knobs, and some jewelry. It's going to be a good day, plus I may be swinging by the Kate Spade outlet and picking up a new purse, and trust me that can make any day a good day :)

eBay to the rescue!

I LOVE eBay, I am in a small college town and unable to have my car at school, meaning...I have a very bad case of mall deprivation, therefore, eBay is my savior! I recently realized that I have graduation money to spend! So I am buying a couple things to brighten up my closet.
Hunter Lady N Rain boots (how cute is that name?) I love these boots, and because I am getting them on eBay they went from $140 to $95 :) Such a chic way to protect my feet from the rain!
Pink Patagonia Fleece- a must for the perpetual outdoor parties at HSC on the weekends- it gets cold and this cute little pink pullover will look great with my Frye boots.

I totally have a shopper's high right now and I am LOVING it! Plus there is a new episode of the Office on tonight and Dave Matthews is brightening this dull day I am having!

Summer is a comin'

My first year of college is drawing to an end and when I return to my parent's house, and my old room, in May I want it to fit the 'new me'. The theme: Beachy with a hint of southern charm. I want to use pinks, tans, creams, and some floral prints. I am not sure of the exact details but I got bored one day whilst procrastinating and started to plan plan plan! The majority of the pictures above come from the Coastal Living website and they are my inspiration for the new room!

Now, this is my first post on my first blog and I am extremely excited! I started reading Jessica Nell Graves' blog 'The Love List' and got hooked on blogging! Her advice was to dive right in, so that's what I did! I aim to have fashion, home, travel, and food all mentioned on 'Birds of a Feather Shop Together'. I am truly looking forward to seeing what this blog brings me, plus it is one more thing I can cross off my bucket list!
